Arrival by train
After your arrival at the main station, please take the main exit. There are several tram lines going in the direction of the city center or the university. Due to the current construction situation, it is best to inform yourself about the best connection on site: Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV).
Arrival by car to Campus South
The South Campus of KIT is located near the city center of Karlsruhe and has a good connection to the highway network.
- From the north from Frankfurt and Heidelberg (A5, exit Karlsruhe-Durlach)
- From the northwest from Cologne and Koblenz (A61 and A5, exit Karlsruhe-Durlach)
- From the east from Munich and Stuttgart (A8 and A5, exit Karlsruhe-Durlach)
- From the south from Basel and Freiburg (A5, exit Karlsruhe Durlach)
If you arrive by car and want to enter Campus Süd, please use the main entrance (Hauptteinfahrt, see map) and ask for an entry permit at the gate.

Public transport
Karlsruhe has a very good public transport network. If you live in the city centre, it is recommended to use the tram. Public transport in Karlsruhe is provided by the Karlsruher Verkehrsverbund (KVV). Therefore you can use a uniform ticket for all trams and buses. You can find out more details from the KVV.
