The Erasmus program

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology has Erasmus cooperation agreements with over 50 universities in 20 European countries.

Erasmus is an exchange program of the European Union in which all 27 member states as well as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Turkey participate. It is one of the most successful exchange programs worldwide and offers more than 200,000 students the opportunity to study abroad every year.

Here is some important information specifically for Erasmus students:

  • Target group: the Erasmus program is aimed at students of all fields of study and study cycles (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate).

  • Mobility periods: Students can go abroad for one or two semesters as part of Erasmus. There are also opportunities for shorter internships.

  • Financial support: Erasmus students receive a mobility grant, which varies depending on the destination country and length of stay. There is also access to scholarships and other financial aid.

  • Recognition of academic achievements: The coursework completed abroad should be recognized by the home university. This is ensured by the Learning Agreement, which is agreed between the home university, the host university and the student before the stay abroad.

  • Language skills: Erasmus students often have the opportunity to take language courses to improve their language skills, which is a valuable addition to their studies.

  • Application and selection: Applications are usually made through the home university. There are specific criteria and deadlines set by the respective university.

  • Erasmus+ Master Loans: In addition to the mobility grant, students can, under certain conditions, apply for a low-interest loan to finance a Master's degree abroad.

The Erasmus program not only promotes the academic and personal development of students, but also offers the opportunity to get to know new cultures and build international networks. It is a valuable experience for those who want to broaden their horizons and improve their career opportunities.
